What is Soy Wax?
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.

Why Soy Wax?
Soy wax, unlike petroleum-based wax, is completely renewable. It’s an eco-friendly, sustainable option. While the global reserves of oil shrink and paraffin prices increase, the only limit to the soy supply is how much we can grow. Soy wax candles are also vegan-friendly, unlike beeswax candles, and have a smaller environmental impact than palm wax.
Our soy wax candles:
- Are all NATURAL and biodegradable
- Are NOT tested on animals and contain no animal products
- Contain NO petroleum, paraffin, beeswax or palm wax
- Contain NO pesticides and NO herbicides
- Contain NO toxic materials
- Contain NO Genetically Modified Material
- Are Kosher Certified
In addition to being environmentally sustainable, a well-made soy candle will burn cleanly and slowly, much to the delight of our customers.
